Ray Longchamp started banging on a Sears guitar at age 6.  Guitar lessons and the Beatles coming to America two years later started him on his musical journey.  He played in rock & bluegrass bands in high school, and started to get paid to do gigs after graduating.  A formal education and college degree followed.

Scroll forward to 2013-  Ray has been working at a breakneck pace in the music business for 35 years.

Playing-  He does well over 200 dates a year- solo and duo acoustic gigs in clubs and restaurants in the New York metro area as well as many private gigs.  His stylistic scope and repertoire are vast and varied.  Solo gigs feature virtuoso fingerstyle playing, overlaid lead guitar parts, and warm vocals, with the ability to take requests all night.  Duos feature great harmonies, and instrumental improvisation.  All styles are covered- rock, jazz, rythym & blues, country- you name it.

He also does band gigs at larger venues, concert halls, and festivals with the Allman Brothers Tribute band, The Peach Project, that he founded, as well as with other bands and top musicians in the New Your metro area, doing a myriad of styles.

He also has been lead guitarist for the last six years for rock & roll legends and multi- gold record winners, Jay and The Americans, touring North America extensively.

Recording-  He has recorded with countless artists, done commercial jingles, and backed up national acts in the studio, among them- Jay and the Americans and Tommy James of the Shondells.

Teaching-  He has maintained a busy teaching schedule, averaging 30 to 40 students per week.

In addition to performing a wide variety of pop, classic rock, rhythm & blues, jazz & country, Longchamp & Manzo also do a bluegrass show.  We do classic bluegrass standards with authentic improvisation & stellar "high lonesome" harmonies.  We can perform the bluegrass show as a duo, or augment it with additional musicians playing tradtional bluegrass instruments (banjo, fiddle, mandolin, dobro)
